about
Deborah Bridges has spent 34 years as a professional sculptor, selling work at art festivals and various galleries for most of these years. She’s been teaching figurative ceramic sculpture for the past 12 years and creating figurative sculpture in stone, bronze, cement and ceramic. She is represented by Bronze Coast Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon.
“I am drawn to sculpt and create figurative work—primarily centered on the feminine—out of a desire to express human emotion and feminine presence. For me, the human form is the most immediate and powerful vessel for connection; it is both deeply familiar and infinitely expressive.
When I am immersed in a body of work—such as Unremembered Wings, Persona, or Buddha—I work from a narrative or theme that I am personally exploring. Each series becomes a journey of investigation, shaped by meaning, memory, and personal discovery. I continue working within a theme until I feel it has been fully explored in my own life, at which point I move on to the next.
Through sculpture, I make public what begins as a private exploration—transforming personal questions into shared, tangible forms.”
